Wtf, LJ?

I must apologise for spamming your flists with myself today but I feel the need to complain. What the bloody hell is going on with LJ's editor? I go to edit an old post and all the coding is messed up, and I'm having to fight with LJ-cuts every time I go from the HTML to the Rich Text editor and it decides to take my cut text out of the coding. It's as if all of a sudden all of the coding is conflicting with itself and it's just glitching everywhere. I know that [livejournal.com profile] chiisana00 is having the same problem, but how about the rest of you? It's starting to become a major pain in the backside. =o=

I lost a long entry this way, recently =_= So yeah, happening in my side as well.

As far as I know, the only way to avoid it is to stick only to one of those: Rich Text or HTML. The moment you change, disaster may arise =_=

I just spent half an hour fighting with my fanfic list entry making sure half of it didn't disappear when I tried to edit it. For some reason it doesn't like the links to other journals either, it was just getting cut off after 'usxuk' =o= So I've taken all the coding and saved it in a notepad document as a backup. It's this kind of thing that makes me wonder if moving to Dreamwidth might be better.

I think, it's the same problem for everyone. = ^ =
Personally speaking, I gave up editing my old journals like, 2 weeks ago. *-* Screw the new editor script for LJ cut...

Bluh, it sucks >.<;

I only ever really need to edit entries when it's icon entries where tinypic has decided to randomly delete one of my icons or when it's my fanfic list, and I've written another. I have no idea what's going on with the new coding but I don't think they tested it properly.

[identity profile] nasty-show.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I've not really noticed anything, but then I only ever use the html setting, so that's probably why/

One thing I have noticed though is that if I restore an old draft all the gaps between paragraphs are missing so I have to go through and keep hitting enter where a space should have been.

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, I'm getting that problem too. x.x I tend to go between the HTML and Rich Text editors especially when I'm putting in cuts.

I swear it's like they didn't test it all properly before they decided to update.

It happened to me, too, haha.

I was just finishing up an entry for Hetalia Daily when I decided to check if my HTML was typed up properly. After I shifted into the Rich Text Editor, lo and behold, half of the text I typed just vanished into nothingness. I almost flipdesked, ngl. ||OTL

Now, I just stick with the HTML editor and use the Preview button to see if my coding is all accurate.

Your d/p is so appropriate I can't even describe it.

I was going to edit my fanfic list and when I load the editor it just cuts everything right up to where it says 'usxuk', the link for the comm. It's such a pain. I find that if you're in the middle of something that the 'undo' button works sometimes.

I think I'm going to have to start using the same thing. Or just trusting that what I have in the RT editor is alright. Derp.

Grr, yes! LJ makes me angry!

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
It's like having a battle of wits with the damn thing all the time =o= If it's not crashing it's not working.

The screw up is all on LJ's end. They tried to upgrade it in the last official news post and obviously, they did something wrong because EVERYONE on the site is having problems with it and hating the new version. I'd either comment to the news post about your issues or file a problem report so they know they have yet another unhappy user.

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks hon, I'll be doing that.

[identity profile] corvyie.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup, totally happening with me, too. So I'm doing all my posts over on DW and then transferring them here on the HTML side to make it easier on me and my brain, because this is not happening. >8C

/seriously loving DW much more right now

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hopefully they'll get to fixing it soon or I have the feeling they're going to lose a lot of people to other sites. =o=

[identity profile] corvyie.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously. But I think people will generally stick to LJ because, well, not all other friends are on those other sites. So there's hope yet.

Enough complaints will solve this, hopefully. 8U

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2011-09-18 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Whelp, you can use DW and cross-post to LJ. People might do that.

Hopefully you're right. They seem to be working on it in any case.

[identity profile] colourbine.livejournal.com 2011-09-20 08:12 am (UTC)(link)
Haha I think a lot of people are having that problem. Maybe LJ will fix it soon? At least, I hope because its seriously annoying.

Apparently there's a lot of bugs with their new releases. It's such a PAIN. x.x
