Pleh.

Depression is one of those things that you can recover from, but it never really goes away. I was diagnosed with moderate-to-severe depression around two years ago, finally making sense of a lot of the problems that I'd been experiencing. I am not a moody teenager, though I admit that my PMS is something to be feared. I'm not 'just being grumpy'. I have an illness, which is fortunately isn't bad enough that it requires me to take medication.

Writing, reading and drawing are my means to escape. It's difficult, though, because I'm a terrible perfectionist. If I don't like what I'm drawing, I'll scrap it. If there's a major problem with something that I write, I find it hard to carry on. Sometimes I find it very hard to post the things that I write here, and I only continue to do so because of the positive feedback that I receive.

I've been happy though, lately, and I've been doing my very best to get back into university and it's been working. I went in today, even though I didn't want to, and a fat lot of good that did me. I ended up leaving fifteen minutes in feeling like I was about to throw up. The worst part is, I was supposed to go to the cinema with my friends today, to see Alice in Wonderland, but naturally, feeling like that, I didn't go. Bah. I got up early for nothing. What a waste of a day.

On a lighter note...

How many Poles does it take to change a lightbulb?

Just one, but he needs a Lithuanian to spin the table.

It sucks that your day had to take a turn for the worse. ♥ But, the sun will come out tomorrow, and all that jazz! If I was over there, we'd have rented a movie and stayed in, with popcorn and soda--the whole shabang! Hope you're feeling better, biffle! ♥

Oh, and if I'm not on my comp/online later, it's because I'm ushering a concert at school until.. well, I don't know when. But I'll be on my phone, prob, so if you want to talk to me there about your day you can~ Even though it's not the same. .__.

It's cool, that's pretty much all of it anyways. Maybe I can actually get an early night -3-

But you tried. In my book, that is all but a wasted day.

*pets* it's not the end of the world. As long as you keep trying, you'll succeed eventually.

Man, depression can suck. I used to have major anxiety and that went hand-in-hand with depression. So I totally feel you. It can take a lot out of you and it's not only, well, depressing, but frustrating. I always felt so useless when it disrupted my life. And a lot of times, I felt like it was my fault, which is totally stupid, you know? After all, it wasn't my fault and it was something that I couldn't really control. My biggest struggle was to accept that when I was most depressed/anxious it was okay for me to take a day off and try to chillax. But yeah...TOTALLY FRUSTRATING.

So yeah, I hope you don't feel too bad about the relatively uneventful day you had. Depression is annoying, isn't it? But I hope you get on the upswing soon.

Blahhh...

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
It could always be worse, right?

-hugs-

Are you online? Do I have you online? I struggle to connect the people I have on messenger to the ones on LJ these days. Especially when they keep changing their names

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha...yeah...I was phoenixdown7...then I wanted to change it to lamp_spirit...then I hated that and wanted to change it back, but phoenixdown7 had already been taken. DX so I had to change it to phoenix_down7...which is lame.

But yeah, I'm akaneluvsya7 on AIM...we chat often. ^__^

Awe,I love you girlie. I'm sorry you have deal with that. That must be awful.
On the bright side, a lot of great artists and writers had/have depression....
XD
I read some article about it in Newsweek.

D8 I hope you're feeling better now. In my opinion, what really matters is that you're making an attempt at making things work. For better or worse, you made yourself get up and go to Uni, even though you didn't want to. You put effort into doing something you didn't want to do, so I think that shows some strength of character.

I can relate to reading, writing, and drawng as a form of escape. It's probably why fantasy is one of my favorite working genres. Anyway, I'm a big fan of your stories, so I'm just happy that you take the time to share you work with us. You even motivated me to draw (which I'm STILL working on BTW) and to get out of lurker mode...not that I'm stalking/lurking in your journal and waiting for updates or anything like that... *coughs* So thank you, and I can't wait to see what you come up wth next. <3

You know...as soon as I saw that lightbulb question my mental answer was..."Oh my God. None, because he'd like totally have a Lithuanian like do it for him, y'know?" lol I should've seen that coming especially since I've seen that as you MSN icon. XD

[identity profile] lovingloveless.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 07:56 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, and on one little side note..either way you look at it, PMS is always something to be feared...by all sides. XP

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-03-25 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed =P

I should be updating my sequel fic soon~ Perhaps today.
