AND STOP BEING SORE LOSERS OVER IT AND PUT YOUR SHIT TOGETHER MAN though I usually root for the underdogs anyway, so it's actually really funny this time.

xD Inorite.

I NO RITE?

But funnily enough, I'm not supporting England overly, and Spain and France aren't my teams!
It was quite amusing seeing Switzerland win. And Germany got brought down to earth by Serbia, yes?
I don't know if you saw the after game conversation with Gerrard?
The first line was something like: Journalist: So, what was missing tonight?
Gerrard: Goals.

Couldn't'a put it better meself.
Logic is logical.

Even Brazil's having trouble. It's so weird, all the top teams are just.. lacklustre this year.

[identity profile] isakana.livejournal.com 2010-06-22 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It's quite strange, but I think they get complacent, and think it'll be easy, so they don't try hard, like Portugal. Those kind of teams get better during the competition.

Well, if they don't, they go out! > <

(sorry for taking so long...)

I thought you didn't care about football? xD

Anyways, I AGREE SO MUCH. Except for Spain. Because Spain playing badly is a good thing for us -w-
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

I don't care enough to watch it, but it's bugging me that all these 'top' teams are playing so abysmally.

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'm still a little pissed off about that last winning goal that was taken away from the US just because the refs were being complete assholes...and I didn't even see the game! DX

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
Apparently the US played pathetically during the first half. Too much prancing around basking in their own glory. -.-

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
Uh...what? They pranced around basking in their own glory? Are we talking about the same team? The US team are the complete underdogs and they know it just as much as anyone.

I think they just sucked...defensively, and then had to fight tooth and nail to get even...and then the third goal, which I saw, was totally legitimate but the ref called a foul and disqualified the goal...which was total BS!

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Being the so-called 'underdogs' doesn't mean they're not cocksure and overconfident (and they aren't the only team like that).

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Uh yeah, I guess, but that also doesn't mean that they are cocksure and overconfident. Coz at least when I watched that match against England, they sure as hell didn't act that way...and in the interviews leading up to the match with Slovenia, which is the team at the top of their group now, all the US players were saying how serious they were about this match, because if they didn't tie or win it, they'd be kicked out of the group.

SO...uh...who the heck told you they were acting that way?

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
A friend of mine (American) who watched the match.

And America aren't that much of the underdogs. They're 17th in the FIFA rankings, out of 25. If anyone's the underdog in recent matches it's Switzerland (24th) who beat Spain (2nd) thus the WTFing about Spain.

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
I just can't see that, given how important the match was for them, but whatever. I really think they just have a poor defense and their offense had to make up for it.

Yeah, the US team actually beat Spain in the qualifying rounds too. Spain isn't as good as everyone says they are.

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
I'm also very disappointed in England. By rights we SHOULD have a good enough team to get some clean wins... and that Algeria match was abysmal. -_-

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 07:20 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah, I just heard about that! For some reason I thought the match was on Saturday and not today...so I completely missed it! I meant to watch the US v Slovenia game too, but it was on at 7am here and my alarm didn't go off. DX and then I proceeded to miss the England match..although now I'm kinda glad about that coz I heard it was terribly uneventful.

[identity profile] phoenixdown7.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
I also heard from French friend of mine that their team is so dogged by scandal and controversy that 70% of the French don't even support them. That's SAD.

[identity profile] ecchipiro.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 05:03 am (UTC)(link)
That was painful to watch. This is not the England I know. :/

[identity profile] blood-winged.livejournal.com 2010-06-19 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
I only caught the end, but even to watch that was just like 'come on, guys, what are you DOING?'
