1. The culture. Pretty much every time I think of writing Japan involves a load of research (which is probably why I don't do it often!) because of how much Japanese culture is different to Western.
2. Japan was not always the peaceful nation that he is now - even their actions during WW2 could be marked as 'peaceful' compared to the past conflicts that they've been involved in and the things that the country has done. Yes, it's fun to write him being moe and adorable but he definitely has a darker side.
3. CATS. I don't know why, but things I write with Japan tend to end up involving cats. XD
