"Don't you think we're a little too close?" said Arthur as they watched the solar flares arcing off the dying star only a few hundred thousand kilometres away. Alfred shrugged, and the older man knew that he wasn't really listening, just responding in a way that he hoped would be correct. Smiling, Arthur laced his fingers through the American's, feeling the twitch of surprise that ran through him, and then the responding faint pressure against his hand.
