Alfred loved many things about Arthur.
He loved the way that the man absolutely had to have a cup of tea at three o’ clock, no matter where he was.
He loved watching the calm and peaceful expression on his face as he tuned the strings of his guitar.
He loved how Arthur liked to read, and when asked, the way he would set Alfred comfortably on his lap and read to him.
... He loved how Arthur would still do funny voices when he did that.
He loved it when Arthur was working, and he could sneak into the room with a cup of tea and gently, firmly rub his lover’s shoulders, and the way the man would sigh, and lean back against his hands.
He loved Arthur’s kisses.
He loved the way that Arthur would sit in his lap, and curl Nantucket slowly around one finger, until Alfred was so desperate that he could barely stand it.
He loved creeping up on the man in the shower, and how he would always squeak and cover himself, even though he didn’t need to.
He loved how Arthur always knew when he was sad, and never mocked him when he cried.
He loved how Arthur would always drop everything to be with him, no matter how important.
He loved Arthur’s cuddles, and holding the Englishman’s slender body close to his own.
He loved the smell of Arthur’s hair.
He loved that Arthur’s fingers always seemed to be ink-stained, even when he hadn’t touched a pen in days.
He loved the way that Arthur made him feel like he could be something better than he was.
He loved how Arthur never said no to him... ever.
... He loved how he never wanted to say no to Arthur, either.
He loved Arthur’s smile, and the cute way that he’d blush when Alfred told him he was beautiful.
