I know better than to place the blame for alcohol-based violence on the victim (and I have in fact been planning to revise that summary since this has taken a different turn than I intended). Somebody commented that Alfred's self-esteem would be quite low right now and I think that would be true, which is why he's blaming himself for it.
Canada's outburst was more pointing to the fact that America's forcefulness has the effect of turning nearly everyone against him, not just England, and I was concerned about how that would come across so I will try to alter the dialogue to reflect that.
He isn't going to keep blaming himself, and I'm hoping that how I end it won't be too unrealistic. I'd be happy for you to send me a message if you have any concerns/suggestions for me! I know this is a very sensitive issue for some people and I was worried about working with it, so I want to make it as truthful as I can.
