I can't remember where my last entry was and I can't be bothered to look so I'll just go from the beginning of the past few weeks and see how long this goes on for.

I got ill on Monday 25th October. I just felt nauseous, I thought I'd be alright, but on Tuesday I was throwing up, and I barely ate anything for three days after that. On Thursday, my friend Jasper came over to stay the night before we headed off to MCM. I let him play Fallout: New Vegas and he irritated the hell out of me by not using the VATS system, but eh, that's totally up to him. Friday, we went down to London, I was tired and cranky and snapped at him a lot. We met up with his friend Chazz, who made a brilliant first impression, by the way, with his throwing a tantrum because we were late to meet him (the coach was late in, then we had to get on the tube and boy was that fun).

Jasper then proceeded to be a bit of a twit until I had words with him, and Chazz was a tool for most of the weekend, but I won't talk much about him... because he's a tool.

I am never sleeping in the same room as two boys again if I can help it. I was so tired on Saturday morning that I didn't want to get up, and let Jasper go with £35 to get both of our expo tickets. However, I couldn't get back to sleep, so when he text me to say he had the tickets, I got up and got ready while he came back to get me. It took me well over half an hour to put on my costume and aaagh chest binding is so uncomfortable, but it looked awesome. We went down to the expo, where I met with [livejournal.com profile] honeyhamster (Ellen) and her friend Bruni, who are both so great.

We separated for a bit, and I was lured into buying a remote controlled helicopter. Sod anime, I wanted that helicopter. After a while I went outside to find the other Hetalia lot, promptly having England yelled at me a few times. I met another England (WW2 era) who is [livejournal.com profile] hellzabeth , and we had an amusing argument about what magic she (WW2 England) had done wrong to have me (Rev!England) end up there. We also had some tea.

Then, came the photos. I met a brilliant male England cosplayer called Sam who fell in love with the boots I was wearing.

I managed to have myself dubbed the 'cute England'. I'm not sure how to feel about that. I'm gonna go with feeling cool about it. I also stole a Canada flag from an absolutely adorable Prussia, and caught the attention of three Japanese girls who seemed to take a shine to me. I realised I watch too much anime when I was sitting in the middle of them realising I could understand half of what they were saying. I guess my costume looked better than I thought - I kept getting compliments on it, and two random people (not cosplayers, just photographers) took photos of me. I managed to track one of them down since he so nicely gave me his card, and I quite like this photo~

I got proposed to by two Frances... I said yes to one of them, because of the sad puppy-eyed look I got when I said no. I also kept being bothered by a Sealand, who kept scurrying over, flipping me off and running away. I later caught up with said Sealand and stole his flag, until Russia intimidated me into giving it back. Sealand was later saying "this jerk is alright". I lol'd.

When I caught up with Jasper again we went back inside and looked around a bit more. He bought some manga, and some for me, which I have yet to unpack nevermind read, and then we left as Ellen had invited Jasper and I to go out for dinner with her and Bruni. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at that, since we'd only just met. Getting into London was complete hell. Half the underground lines were down and we were already turned around by the time we realised where we needed to be going (we later realised there was actually a much easier way to get to where we wanted to go... ah, hindsight). It took us two hours to get to where we wanted to go, and we followes Bruni through China Town to a place selling pork buns. I hate her so much for letting me buy one, because now I keep getting cravings, and they don't have them anywhere here.

We found our way to a Japanese and Thai restaurant. The servings were enormous.. by the time I was full it still didn't look like I'd eaten anything! Even Jasper was over-faced and that guy has a bottomless pit for a stomach. Getting back to the hotel was far quicker, and I deeeefinitely want to go out to dinner with those two again.

We got back to the room at about ten and tried to pry open the back of the controller for my helicopter so I could play with it, to no avail. Slept badly again. Damn boys.

On Sunday we checked out and went to meet up with my dad at the London Eye, as he was there with a group of friends from work. He took us on the eye (totally unexpected) and then we went to a restaurant for lunch. Jasper managed to eat his quicker than anyone else and then nabbed some of someone else's lunch too since they were full. Like I said - bottomless pit. I had a burger, which I didn't manage to eat all of even though it was very tasty. I can't remember if Jasper took my leftovers. I think he might have. After that, we said our goodbyes and Jasper and I made our way to Victoria Coach Station, where we waited for two sodding hours for our coach.

It then took us six hours to get home, because the motorway on part of the journey was closed, and it took an extra hour. Thing is, no one told us this, so we were sat on the coach wondering what the heck was going on, with a complete idiot sat behind us who wouldn't shut the fuck up.

Jasper went home on Monday, and I had a week off, which was nice, apart from the fact that being so ill the week before had left me open to the lovely head-cold that I got in the second half. Felt like someone had shoved bricks in my sinuses.

All this being ill is making me seriously worry. I mean, I'm not getting any of my university work done because I always seem to be sick. I've missed four classes out of ten and even though I've paid for it, if I'm not turning up they can kick me off the course. It isn't helping, too, that I'm being struck with the writer's version of stage fright and can't seem to write anything that I'm brave enough to end into the workshop for people to look at. Silly, huh? You'd think that the longer you spend writing, the less nervous you'd get about showing it off to people. Well, I never claimed to be normal.

Still, it's a little worrying.

On November 5th, it was Guy Fawkes Night, which I had to explain to several Americans. Don't blame you though, it's pretty much only a British tradition now. We didn't get to go to any fireworks displays because it was raining, but I could see them from my window and took a few photos. This one is my favourite...

Not bad for about a mile away.

So, other things. I've completed two games in the past week, Fallout: New Vegas and Fable III.

I have to say, the latter was something of a disappointment. Yes, I can see what they were trying to do and for the most part they did it, but it has the same issues as the second one did. I really wish they could have made one that was as well rounded as the first. It was decent, the characters were engaging, but the ending was weak and left me a little disappointed. I don't know if I'd really bother playing through it again.

Fallout: New Vegas was much less of a disappointment. While very much like its predecessor, the storyline feels far more personal, the quests are fun, though yet again I found the ending just a little too easy. It also has a problem in the approval system it uses, in that sometimes the factions you choose and 'mistakes' you make between quests can be almost game-breaking. I found myself stopping in frustration several times when avenues I'd wanted to take were suddenly closed to me. I'm thinking maybe they should have given the game a little more testing.

I also forgot that Fallout games aren't open-ended, since I have a DLC on FO3 that allows it to be, so I finished the game with over half the locations still unexplored and missing out on a lot of quests. When I have the willpower I'll have to play through it again.

Lastly, it's that time of the year again. My birthday. On Sunday. I will be twenty-two. Mrf.

I LOVE HOW YOU DON'T TELL ME ABOUT ALL THESE DETAILS--WHEN I BEG YOU FOR THEM, TOO. ;^; *forgives you--snuggle* or, well, okay.. there were SOME that I didn't know about.. /dramatic

That guy England's ruffles are snazzy :B

The wig looks sweet; I didn't get to see it up close before that one picture, but yes, looks nice :Db

You need to feel a-okay again really soon, man. ;^;

There's nothing weird about being nervous to hand something in after so long; I know I'll always be terrified of singing in front of an audience--well, a serious audience anyway. Singing or humming for fun in the middle of wherever wouldn't--no, that's a lie.. Uhm. Yes. It's hard, putting something like that out there for other people to tear apart, if they see fit. And it's 'specially hard if it's something you put your heart into D:

I WILL BAKE YOU A CAKE FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY, AND ENJOY EATING IT FOR YOU ♥♥ > w < !

Your cosplay's truly good :) No wonder people took pictures of you, and you got proposed x'D

That male England cosplayer looks amazing. And for some reason, you being chased by a Sealans sounds amusing xD

That's a pretty cool fireworks pic! :O

Sorry you were ill!
But it sounds like you've been having a great time otherwise, non?

You should have so come out for the fireworks! I went out//got drenched//had a lot of fun. Well, actually given that you were ill maybe not such a good idea, sorry, just considered that point!

I'd be so nervous if I had to show my writing to people: so, SO nervous! Is your course a creative writing course? Or just English in general?

Happy bday for Sunday. Mine's soon too - so little time to plan damn it!
